Iraq rejects permanent U.S. bases: adviser

today.reuters.com

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq will never allow the United States to have permanent military bases on its soil, the government's national security adviser said.

"We need the United States in our war against terrorism, we need them to guard our border sometimes, we need them for economic support and we need them for diplomatic and political support," Mowaffaq al-Rubaie said.

I say, "Good for Iraq"!

Not because I care about Iraq, but because I care about the United States and I want these war mongers shut down on as many fronts as possible.

However, just because Iraq says they won't allow it, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Imperialism at it's finest!

There will be a base.

Look at the countless former British colonies that have our military bases on their soil.

America will end up having a permanent base in Iraq.

Unfortunately, I agree with you 100%.
