KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — The death toll from a new strain of the Ebola virus in Uganda has risen to 29, and the government was warning against shaking hands and other close contact, health officials said Monday.

The death toll was expected to keep rising, said Dr. Sam Zaramba, director general of Uganda's health services.

"We expect to see a moderate rise in new cases and deaths," Zaramba said. "But this strain of Ebola seems less virulent than ones we have seen in the past so we are encourage

Ebola is one of the worlds worse diseases, and this outbreak is causing wide spread panic in Uganda.

The government is saying it is a less virulent than the ones they have seen before, but is this the truth or a attempt to ease the fears and panic they seem to be experiencing?
