A parcel bomb explosion in central Paris killed one person and injured five others Thursday, police said.
The blast went off at a building housing lawyers' offices in the capital's fashionable eighth arrondissement or district.
Earlier police said that a lawyer and a secretary were seriously injured.
The building in Boulevard Malesherbes is where President Nicolas Sarkozy once practised as a lawyer, though there was no immediate evidence of a link.
Mr Charriere-Bournazel said the blast "had nothing to do with" the former law company of President Sarkozy, because it was located on a different floor of the building.
There was also no immediate indication that the attack was linked in any way with The Foundation for the Memory of the Holocaust.
