A Spanish judge has been disbarred after she apparently forgot to order the release of three prisoners, including an innocent man who spent more than a year in prison.

The General Council for Judicial Power (CGPJ), the body that oversees the judiciary, voted to disbar Judge Adelina Entrena Corrillo, head of the criminal court of Motril in Granada, in what was described as one of the most serious sanctions ever imposed in the council's history.

What is it with judges these days?

The other day we had a report on a judge sentencing the entire court to prison because of someones mobile phone ringing.

And now this innocent man has finally been released.

Yes, I'm sure that a judges decision is, at times, a very difficult thing to make, yet why do they appear to have these occasional lapses of sanity?

In a way, todays modern methods for getting to the truth of things that require a court is very helpful in protecting the innocent seeing as untold amounts of people in the past have been jailed or executed wrongly.

Nothing is perfect though, especially that little thing called 'human error'.
