State of emergency declared in Lebanon

www.telegraph.co.uk

Lebanon is bracing itself for violence after the pro-Syrian president declared a state of emergency to stop power passing to rivals loyal to the prime minister.

Just hours before his presidential term expired at midnight, President Emile Lahoud said he was handing power to the army to "preserve security all over the Lebanese territory".

As political termoil increases the fear of another civil war is on the rise. Since no one can agree on a sucessor for President Emile Lahoud, it will be interesting to watch who or what party will fill the void in this already unstable country.Syria and Iran have had alot of influence in the past, and one can only speculate how they are going to deal with this situation.
As Lebanon holds the prime real estate for an offensive on Isreal. I would imagine Iran and Syria are watching this closely.

Has everyone noticed the level of instability in governments all over the place?

I mean, Burma, Pakistan, and now here. It seems that there is a rise in the frequency of these kinds of things. It's like the very ideas of governments are under attack, and people are unhappy with them in a lot of different areas. (Naturally, the least strong/stable are the first to experience this. But every nation seems to be having an increased level of dissident behavior.)

Who's next????

How true. As one views the condition of the world at the present the idea of the traditional style of Government is begining to be an un popular ideology.
Upon observance this type of mentality could very well possibly give credit and justification for a one world Government. These are very certain times indeed.

Goverment?
arent the people that we elect into power to take care of issues in our respected countries?

these days goverments are just motivated by lust for power and greed
let alone whats good for their people.

Israel (both leaders past few years were under scruitiny)
UK (Peers for cash)
and so on
