I've had one since 1999. Yes, they work. The hype and claims they make on the commercials are true, for the reasons they give. It is simple science, and the science behind this design is valid and well researched. Like anything else, you have to stick with it, but the machine does exactly what it is designed to do.

I can't tell you anything about the new ones, but my 8 year old bowflex still works great. It's well put together and durable. The power rods just do not wear out as long as you don't leave them under tension when not using them.

Get one. It's worth it as long as you keep using it. Find an older used one for much less than they cost new. Hope this helps.

I also got one in 99 and used it regularly. Since I have used mostly in winters. I have the older model. Around here you can usually find used ones. I like them I was doing around 25 exercises 12 reps in around 30 min. Strange you posted on this topic. I just started using the bowflex again today.
