-10-18-1973 - Military Helicopter manages to avoid midair collision with UFO at an altitude of 2500 feet in the vicinity of Mansfield(sp?), Ohio.
-Pilot of said aircraft had to rapidly descend to 1700 feet to avoid the UFO which was approaching at approx. 600 knots.
-Pilots raidoed control tower to see if any high performance aircraft were known to be in the area.
-Object hesitated briefly over the helicopter and then continued on a vectorly course at a high rate of speed.
-UFO executed 45 degree turn at, I am assuming, still a high rate of speed.
-Report was filed with Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
-Report read, attested to and signed by crewmembers.
-No apparent speculation on what the Unidentified Object was.

This sounds like a very interesting encounter near where I live from credible witnesses. I wish they would have included a better description of the
object, which is described as a red light. That could have been an air craft, but what aircraft can fly in at 600 knots and "hesitate" over the
helicopter?
