Moody Is the New Bipolar - big pharma wants big profits at the expense of our kids

Not too long ago, a child who was irritable, moody, and distractible and who at times sounded grandiose or acted without regard for consequences was considered a "handful." In the U.S. by the 1980s, that child was labeled with a "behavioral disorder" and today that child is being diagnosed as "bipolar" and "psychotic" -- and prescribed expensive antipsychotic drugs.

This really gets me going.

Behavioural drugs for "problem" kids has grown out of all proportion to the number of kids who actually have problems.

We are in danger of labelling huge parts of the next generation "disturbed" simply for doing what many kids do!

Kids are just like adults, they get moody, ticked off and have a temper - but instead of dealing with it as parents, increasing numbers of people are turning to drugs, condemning a child to a lifetime of dependancy, trauma and being labelled as "loony".

There is nothing right about this increased use of drugs, and everything wrong with it.
