NSA Monitors ALL Web Traffic, Say X AT@T Employee

Mark Klein, the former AT&T technician and whistleblower who helped kick off the AT&T/NSA eavesdropping scandal, clarified further details regarding what he witnessed while connecting a secret NSA eavesdropping facility: secure room 641A in AT&T’s San Francisco switching center, presumably commissioned by the NSA, received copies of all the traffic its splitters were connected to, including both international and domestic e-mails, web traffic, and phone calls, both from AT&T’s customers as well as other providers.

Thought people might want the details. Of course you can expect in a couple posts or in a week someone to say that Echelon does not exist - just like people are trying to say that suitcase nukes do not exist...

AT&T also has a monitoring center in ST. Louis that monitors all
backbone traffic large and small private and public.

The monitoring facilities are nothing new though many of the upgrades done
on the switching systems used in the PSTN have been in place since the CALEA laws went in to effect..

These upgrades were performed alongside of upgrades for enhanced performance a much larger subscriber capacity and an all around better switching system platform.. and it did make a much better switching platform

anyway regardless of the name of any program and rest assured there is more than one.. they are here and you have to either get used to it or try to change it..

ECHELON does not violate the laws of physics like suitcase nukes would if they existed.
