This is not supposed to be a huge event.
But possibly more meteors per hour than usual.
10 or 20 per.

These tend to be bright, fast, and some leave nice trails.
If you have binoculars, try to scope out the trails. I've been able to do that a few times during this annual event.

Don't use the binoculars for spotting the meteors, the field of view is too narrow. But after you've just missed one because you were looking the wrong way, bring up the Binoculars and try to spot the remnant trail..

These are thought to be fragments of Comet Halley.

Which direction? Should I look high in the sky, closer to the horizon, or should I just lay flat on my back in the middle of my back yard and wait?

Ah, thanks again, space' !

Don't know where my heads, been. I used to be on top of these things.

The weather looks like it will be cooperating on the East Coast, Jack.

I envy your mountain view, tho.

Nothing like a clear night on the Blue Ridge Pkwy.

So many stars, it's almost hard to pick out familiar patterns.

'Scoped my first globular cluster up there.

You da man, space'.

Thanks to your reminder, I will be suffering lost sleep, a sore neck, annoying

bugs, dry eyes,

............"and loving every minute of it"

- Clear skies

Look in the direction of Orion the hunter.

Would some of you here like to count how many you see in one evening? I'd be interested to see how many are seen across in different parts of the world.

Best time to watch is between Midnight and dawn. the closer to dawn the better.

Here's a visual to help with the general direction to look.
