Any UK Residents-What is the best Train Service out of Manchester UK?

Hey guys anyone who might know

I am trying to find the best train service out of the Manchester Airport in the UK


I found National Rail, but I have never traveled before

I am going to Carnforth as a student, an will have laptop backpack, one large duffel bag an medium size duffel bag probably around 80 lbs of luggage.


Anything would be great

an yea its the Saturday I gotta be in Carnforth by 12pm

Hmm you may want to look in to traveling with virgin, My dad works for network rail, ill ask him as im sure he wold know whats best,

Sorry Ragster but there isn't a nice way to travel in the UK!


Buses are infrequent and cramped.

Motorways are congested and bland.

Trains can be ok if going direct, changing can be annoying as some British train stations aren't the most informative.
Trains are ok if not travelling at peak times when they can be overfull.
A tip, buy your ticket in advance if you can.
Virgin trains are the best to travel on but I don't think they operate on the line you'll be using.

I travel by train quite a bit and on the whole find it the most enjoyable and relaxing way to travel.

How long are you at Carnforth for?
