If Bush truly planned the attacks on 9/11 then isn't it safe to say that he could have blamed it on anyone he chose to? If he wanted to he could have pointed the finger at some gangsters in Harlem right?

So here is my point. Everyone says the main purpose of the false flag attack was to gain support and to justify invading Iraq. So if this is truly the case, then why not just blame Iraq instead of Al Qaeda? Bush could have simply gone on television and said something like, "The attacks of 9/11 were carried out by terrorists under direction of Saddam Hussein." Wouldn't that have made much more sense for his "plan?" Wouldn't this have avoided all of the controversy today such as "If people from Afghanistan attacked us then why are we attacking Iraq?"

So my theory is that Bush had nothing to do with planning the attacks on 9/11. It was Bin Ladin and Al Qaeda, and Bush simply exploited the event and used it to his advantage.

It's ongoing fear mongering. If he just blamed it on sadam, then there is no more fear to be had. Blaming it on a mobile group of 'terrorists' he can keep it going as long as he chooses.

Besides he wanted to go into afganistan and iraq. Also he can now say the 'terrorists' are in Iran and get alot of backing.

Having a 'generic' enemy is much better than having a specfic one.
