Bot/Trojan Problem?

Lately I've been having a problem with my computer, where whenever I turn it on, there is like 10 porn websites in my favorites list, and I erase them and when I restart my computer later on, the porn links are in my favorites once again.

I know I have a trojan or some kind of bot in my computer, because I also get links to this "coolwebsearch.com" site when I click links on Google searches, and it's really pissing me off because now I can't use my homepage option anymore because the bot/trojan keeps making the homepage some stupid unknown search engine.

I have Ad-Aware's most recent version of it's spyware search tool, and I do a full hard drive scan every day or so, and erase all the spywares I find, and I also do a McAfee virus scan every few days (I also have the most recent definitions).

I also recently deleted all my cookies incase it was a cookie, and I erased the history and deleted all online/offline internet files. But the damn problem still exists! I also notice a file in my c:/ that is named "program" and have a feeling that's whats causing all this, but whenever I delete it, it still comes back after restart. So there's something deeper in my system that is causing this.

I don't want to have to do a fresh re-install of Windows XP, only if it's the last last resort. Can any of you help me out with my problem?

ok...... before you do that download and run spybot search and destroy....... that is an excellent program for getting rid of spyware bots that adaware often misses.

try that BEFORE you re-format.

This strain of Trojan isn't picked up by spyware seekers, which is why a separate removal tool was created. It's a real nasty bugger.

And 10 - no prob.
