In a confrontation captured on videotape, a hospital security guard fired a stun gun to stop a defiant father from taking home his newborn, sending both man and child crashing to the floor. Now William Lewis says his baby girl suffers from head trauma because she was dropped.

I'm pretty much pro-law enforcement, but what this security guard did was uncalled for. This was excessive force in a situation that could have been handled otherwise.

He probably reacted to a child being kidnapped without thinking the situation through. (at least that's how I read it .. the baby was being kidnapped??????)

Which is better? Take a chance on injury of the child or to allow the child to be kidnapped?

But you are right .. there are other things that could have been done.
