Air crash reported near army base

news.bbc.co.uk

A rescue operation has been launched after reports of an army helicopter crash in North Yorkshire, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said.

The operation was "at a very early stage", the spokeswoman added.

My mum thinks she saw said Helicopter about 40/50 minutes before it was reported on Look North (the local news program), she said she noticed it because it was flying incredibly low and sideways. at first she thought it was a plane about to crash. Also it wasn't heading anywhere near to Yeadon (Leeds/Bradford Airport).

I'm intrested to hear more info on this, it's the 2nd Helicopter crash in Yorkshire in the past couple of weeks. Link to BBC article on other crash.

I live in Leeds, which is in West Yorkshire - which is only 30 or so miles away.
