ATS: ATSNN, The first week

After the first full week of a dedicated news effort on Above Top Secret, our new news site, www.atsnn.com has taken off with a fantastic start. While we officially launched on January 1st, 2004, the real effort of publishing new news didn't begin in earnest until Monday, January 5th. And in that time, the new website has already served up over 2 gigabytes of total traffic. Our peak day was yesterday, with 1,938 unique visitors, viewing 6,361 pages. The top story was our Mars color story, www.atsnn.com..., with Science & Technology being our top news category. Since launching the news website, AboveTopSecret.com traffic has been on the rise as well. Yesterday was our second highest traffic day, with 21,322 unique visitors, viewing 231,959 pages, and we served just a bit less than 4.5 gigabytes. And believe it or not, two days a go (a Sunday) was our third highest traffic day, with 17,526 unique visitors, viewing 187,084 pages, and 3.9 gigabytes of data. Thanks to all our fine contributors who are helping to expand ATS and make your voice heard on the Internet. During this time, more members submitted approved stories than actual staff "reporters" or "editors" which is exactly how we'd hope the concept would evolve.
