Child and strange events

Let me tell you something that happened to my friend in his new house. He has a very young child (about one years old) and she is still in the stage of sleeping in her cot and is sometimes quite restless.

He has lived in the house for maybe four months and has started experiencing strange events that seem to be localised upstairs.

My friend has got a walkie talkie set up in her room for when she is sleeping (it's called a baby monitor) and the receiver is set up in the living room downstairs. So, he can always tell when she is crying and/or when she is restless and moving. When any movement is detected the green light appears on the receiver and when any sound is made a red light appears.

He ALWAYS gets into the habit of leaving the baby monitor on when she has gone to bed. No doubt about it, due to the fact that is his only contact with her whilst she lies upstairs.

Okay, so my friend is downstairs one night listening to some quiet music and he can hear her murmuring away to herself in her sleep. The green and red light both flashing on and off. So he goes upstairs to check on her and she is fast asleep and still. Fine... he goes back down stairs.


Literally, a few minutes later a strange noise screeches through the receiver. Without a second thought, he runs upstairs into her room and sees that she is fast asleep in her cot, but her room has gone really cold. He then notices that the microphone is turned off at both the wall (power source) and on the unit itself.

He told me got a very bad chilling feeling that something was in the house and actually went so far as to search under the bed and check the other rooms (thinking that an intruder had come into the house).

This freaked him out because he knew for a fact that only minutes ago, the baby monitor was switched on...

This worried him, but combined with the fact that various lights had turned themselves on (even though he is energy efficient and makes sure all the lights are off every night) over a period of a few days. E.g he woke up one morning with a cold feeling and looked at the doorway and the hallway light had come on somehow in the middle of the night. This happened two or three nights on the run...

Now my friend is spooked and concerned that something is haunting the house. Maybe it's a restless spirit or something that's related to his childs' energy or something...

Does anybody know what this could be?

Well I can not be sure of course, because I haven't visited the location. But at the age your friends child is, childeren do seem to have enenergy bursts coming from them.

These bursts are often responsable for poltergeist like effects.

I've experienced similair things with my oldest son, from around nine months till the age of 3 strange things occured while he was safe and sound asleep. When he was about 3 years old these things all just dissapeard.

Either way, have Your buddy cleanse His house. Poltergeists are said to move objects, make loud noises or shrieks and cause electrical disturbances, most of it happens at nite. It could possibly be a poltergeist like ambushrocks said. The majority of poltergeist incidents involve adolescents though(11yrs.-19yrs. or so) Most of the the 'subjects' are female, but any age or gender can be be the source. Stress is said to a factor in poltergeist activity. Maybe the girl is stressed a bit because of moving into a new house. Always cleanse Your home before moving in! You don't want to deal with anyone elses - energy.
