How do you write in 'the book of life'?

I was wondering about this.. It says in the Bible that everyone shall be killed
who have not written in the book life..

What do you think about this?
How would one write in that book? Be a president? Famous singer like Elvis?
Moviestar? Make breakthroughs as a scientist like Einstein?

I don't think the concept has anything to do with being famous. Live a righteous life, however you see fit, and don't worry about going to heaven or hell.

You must LIVE. That is an important factor. To be worrying about what is around the corner is worthless.

If you really believe a 'book of life' exists and one must do something extraordinary to be written in it...Well get going . Invent something, write a great piece of literature, compose music...Whatever your passion may be. But do something you love, not something that you think will allow you access to a heavenly realm.

Love God and every creature on the Earth. Treat them with respect. That is probably a great start.

I don't think your quote is an accurate one. The phrase "Book of Life" only appears about eight times in the King James Bible. Three mention it in context of killing or destruction.

Revelation 13:1-8
"1": And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
"2": And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
"3": And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
"4": And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
"5": And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
"6": And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
"7": And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Revelation 17: 7-8

And Revelation 20: 11-15
"11": And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
"12": And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
"13": And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
"14": And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
"15": And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.


The last one is the closest match to your quote. It doesn't refer to a person 'writing in the Book of Life', but to a person's name being written in the Book of Life. The Almighty does the writing. As to how one comes to have one's name written there, the answer you'll get varies from denomination to denomination...suffice to say that the Book of Life is a list of those who have been (or will be) redeemed and accepted into Heaven.

Right, I'm not a religious man

But I'd say: live life to the fullest

That should be all to do, anything you do just because the action/ceremony is expected is just a hollow sharade.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't simple
there's no loop-holes, no linguistic back-doors
living by your own rules is about as thoug as it gets
If you mess anything up, the only one to blame will be you

But i think it's worth it
