Panel Demands Records on Tillman's Death

abcnews.go.com

Two influential lawmakers investigating how and when the Bush administration learned the circumstances of Pat Tillman's friendly-fire death and how those details were disclosed accused the White House and Pentagon on Friday of withholding key documents and renewed their demand for the material.

The White House and Defense Department have turned over nearly 10,000 pages of papers, but the White House cited "executive branch confidentiality interests" in refusing to provide other documents.

Why would they handover anything that puts them in a bad light?

Yet another piece of unsurprising news in a long chain of secrecy, lies, and incompetence. What more can we expect?

White House Denies Request for Documents in Ex-NFL Player's Death

www.washingtontpost.com

The White House has refused to give Congress documents about the death of former NFL player Pat Tillman, with White House counsel Fred F. Fielding saying that certain papers relating to discussion of the friendly-fire shooting "implicate Executive Branch confidentiality interests."

Reps. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) and Thomas M. Davis III (R-Va.), the leading members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, objected to the refusal yesterday in letters to the White House and the Defense Department.

Indeed.

I suppose they really did know exactly what happened
but decided to LIE and fabricate a story using
Pat Tillman's celebrity for war support.

Impeach 'em already.

So Bush fabricated the whole 9/11 stuff, bin laden is just a figment of our imagination, we stole all the oil, (3.50 a gallon now), and for the icing on the cake he kills a pro football player!!

You 9/11 nuts are really grasping for anything and everything now.

When I heard this on the news, I nearly choked on my coffee and thought WTF (pardon my French, and I'm one of the older ones at ATS!). This man wants me to believe that it's in my best interest to give up rights to privacy; after all, if I haven't done anything wrong, what's the problem? When he has put himself on the fast track to secrecy?? Mr. President, if you've done no wrong, then what's the problem??

desert,
My sentiments exactly.
What do they have to hide now?

Patrick J. Leahy, D-Vt., added: "It is deeply disturbing that this administration seems to spend so much of its energy and resources trying to find ways to ignore any check and balance on its authority and avoid accountability to Congress and the American public."

He made those comments in regards to a different secrecy issue,
but they're just as applicable in this one. Where's the accountability?

I hate to point out your harsh attitude because I dont want you to be banned.
I would like to educate you, help you deny your ignorance.
Work with me redseal, this can be a pleasent experience for both of us.

You assume things. THings which arent true.
Nobody ever said that Bush killed a pro football player.
Calm down and take a deep breath.

Read carefully what aecreate wrote.
Now maybe read it again, because its all true.

YOu should spend about 20 to 30 minutes reading anything you can find on Pat Tillman, may God rest his soul.
Use that fancy tool I talked about before.
Find out what you can about Pat Tillman and then come back here and add a comment.
I look forward to your post!
