ok so i was trying to debunk for my self the "rod" fenomenon wich i kinda did, i have always said that these "rods" are just bugs caught on a certain setting on a camera. this is what i captured.........

but theres only one thing i cant explain, if my camera captured this moth trough out its flight then why not the one at the bottom center right of the picture.
any ideas?

p.s. it wasnt raining eighther i believe its dust from where i work.

That's called a long-exposure shot with a moving light/moving camera.

Set the exposure on any camera high and point it at a dim light in a small room and shake the camera and you'll get a picture that looks exactly like that.

The 'short-trace' bug may have just passed through the edge of the cone of light briefly.
