Angular Momentum of Light, Have we missed ET communications?

Topic started on 10-1-2004 @ 03:36 AM by ScienceGuyQ

Light has Angular Momentum.
You can read about it in laymens terms here.
www.sciam.com...

Basicly, light's angular momentum would be ideal for transmitting data long distances. Fluctuation in the momentum would make a far superior transmitting medium then radio waves. In addition it is a medium not even being looked at.

In addition to the fact it could be used to transmit data it can also be used to focus in on light and ignore background light. A telescope that uses this could see the light reflect off of other planets by effectivly blocking out the light from thier stars.

To my knowledge this property of light is currently being used to build a few new prototype telescopes.

I find that very interesting indeed, as for some short period (few days) I've been looking at the possibility that maybe we are missing something bigger, something encoded in the waves of Light and Sound and maybe something in the harmonies of the two...
(maybe in any natural oscillations)...
