As our space travel technology gets better and cheaper, one question remains clear in my mind. Will average citizens be able to travel in space?

Many nasa videos have shown some interesting things in the space around our planet to say the least. Are they going to let the average Joe see all of these things? I would like to take a vacation to the moon myself.

Are there too many secrets in space to let us out there?

Well, technically the free government, such as America, EU countries, S. Korea, Japan etc.
can't disallow the privatization of space, in fact as the technology grows and becomes cheaper
it will be pretty much impossible for them to do so, especially without a huge amount of
pressure from there own population and from abroad.

Besides that America itself has been pushing for privatized space, especially Bush
as well as (not the same as him, but still advocating it) Libertarian groups.

The government is not as powerful as is sometimes though.

Without civilians, there is no government. Do what you want.

You don't believe governments suppress technology from their people?
IMO if they didn't want you to have something, chances are you are not getting it.

Yeah, technically being the key word here. They don't need to stop it outright, they just need to steer the public in the general direction they want. They do it all the time.

It's not always the government that steers these decisions, corporations might be paid a handome sum to shutup about new technologies or agendas.

Just because Bush is pushing for privatization, doesn't mean they will accomplish it, because if it does happen it will be far, far in the future.(not necessarily close orbit flights, but interplanetary flights sure are.)
