Shocking - Can this be true? Aeroplanes In Ancient India?

Firstly I am amused AryanWatch that you misspell ‘do’ possibly one of the shortest, most uses and easiest to spell words in the history of language after chastising a previous poster for misspelling communist (5x the length).

But moving on, is it not possible that evolution of languages over time have meant that these translations bear little resemblance to what they were actually describing.
Assuming however that there might be some truth in these claims; perhaps the scale that people seem to be imagining is incorrect. The Chinese for instance made man carrying kites almost 3 millennia before the Wright brothers flew. Perhaps these primitive aircraft were along similar lines, rather than true aircraft.

I have to say however I’m not sure why this post is in this forum in the first place. Surely there are areas of ATS which are more suitable. I doubt we will being seeing a “F-15E Vs Stone age Indian kite” thread any time soon (prove me wrong if you like).
