How many of YOU would reveal important information EVEN if it meant you would have to die over this info.

If this information was withheld from the public, and you 'got wind of it'...to many degrees...INFO that would benefit mankind on so many levels, would YOU personally stick your neck out to deliver the truth...even if it meant your death?

If someone or some group of people knocked at your door and told you:

STOP PREACHING THIS INFORMATION OR DIE...

Would you? Would you stop telling, what you found to be the truth, and 'cease and desist'?

I am courious to the responses.

I am asking only about the secret info that is roaming around as we speak.

I would continue because "they" no longer control me completely...one reason...I no longer fear death...only pain..which is temporary.

I would. Hey.............I was subject to a modern day gassing (carbon monoxide leak) after I received death threats on a couple of websites when I posted a bunch of IP numbers I accidentally stumbled across and was asking what they meant and why the websites were connected to them. One block of IP's appeared to belong to the military and hosted all the military websites............but it also hosted a bunch of other unrelated websites so I found this odd since I would think the military wouldn't be in the ISP business of hosting movie stars, starbucks, U.S. Congressmen, churches, banks and trekkie sites on their servers.

Another block of IP numbers appeared to belong to Stanford University and hosted a bunch of porn sites, crap and stuff like that. I thought it was highly inappropriate if not illegal.

Personally, I would.

If it meant getting the right/correct information out to ALL others.

This, in my mind, is a MORAL/ethical action.

It's more than this...

Hell, I would disclose top secret information for "WATS" votes and applause from moderators, death doesn't even figure in the equation.

I'd be the motor mouth of ATS! Yelling for everyone to copy and D/L the information so it doesn't suddenly vanish from cyberspace.

I suppose this is why they don't trust me with top secret information

mrwupy?

I've come to respect your posts; I love your thoughts hon.

If someone came up to your door tonight (for example) and said that they would kill YOU because you knew too much. Knew too much information to set mankind free etc. Would you entertain their visit; tell them 'YES', I know things and woudl stick the perverbial neck out to defend your beliefs.
Hon? would you DIE for these beliefs?

You may find yourself acting differently if you were really in that situation.

Myself I imagine it would really depend how awesome the info is, and what i have to back it up with.
It may also depend on whether i have a family or not, I tend to put people I love first.
Right now i'd probably do it though coz im single. meh. = )
But yeah it all depends...

if i would get my hands on anything "they" would kill me for to keep it from public sight, i would make that no1 knows at first i know it. Then i would prepare a Web-flood with the info (offline thoug ) and the day i would feel i erased everything relating me to the subject the train would get moving. I would post it up here first (a gift back to ATS for all the knowledge received from the site) , and i'm pretty sure ur guys would make it hits the right spots online. I would also keep a key item behind (maybe some names envolved) for security reasons , and make it so that when i die, dissapear or anything else bad for me. The thing would be send to all who it concerns.

hope it never have to do it , since i aint ready right know to do the above.
I wonna live
(and see what will happen in 2012

When I was younger, I would have probably said no I wouldn't.

But as I get older, I realise that death is a part of life, albeit the end of it. I have come to terms with my fear of death. Not that I would like to invite an early one mind you. But if it was for the greater good, i.e., some sort of long awaited disclosure, sure I would. Most definitely.

Well, it would seem like a good idea to tell as much people as you could. Not many people would believe you, anyway. Not even all ATS members would think you're valid. Maybe until the day you die.

Regardless, governments would have set up disclosure programs and would tie a knot in the whole ordeal you would have created.

Even if the information got out to half of the ATS users, and other alternative discussion forums, none of us wouldn't really act on it. There would be no revolutions, nothing at all. You would have died in vain. All evidence would be debunked, possibly eliminated altogether, and the story would become popular folklore in alternative communities.

The fact of the matter is news travels fast, but world governments travel faster.

Actually that depends. See most terrorist groups want the information from you so would I tell them? No. As for any infromation that the US would want to kill me for, then again no. The only reason I can think of my own government, that I work for, would kill me is that I violated security procedures adn accessed information that would classified above the level of information I was privy to. That infromation would also have to be able to cause critical damage to the security of the nation and that I was planning to exchange the information for money/immunity/etc. I believe anyone that goes prying into places they don't belong waive their rights. If a guy can get shot for tresspassing on private property, I don't see why that would be limited to physical property. Maybe then some of this insanity, would die down because everyone would be afraid to screw with anyone else. I recently attended a conference on Survival and hostage situations. There was a mentioning of group that took some hostages from some country and was trying to negotiate with the country to get money. I believe the PM of that country said " If you do not return our people, we will mobilize our army and track you down. Every village we go throught will be sacked and burnt to the ground." Amazingly enough their hostages were set free within the week. Huh go figure.

I wouldn't. Most (99% give or take) wouldn't listen anyway. Everyone is too comfortable in their middle class life to care about what happening around them.

The truth is always forgotten.

Or covered up. This world is the land of the sheeple. Its going to be a long time before the masses wake up and give a s***.

Considering most underground governmental going-ons are usually classified beyond the norm, you would be more than most definitely breaching the security of your homeland. Even finding out if Aliens work with the government would require extremely good hacking capabilities. So, therefore, you'd be stumbling upon a whole bunch of other secrets along the way.

If you found out what the real deal is about Area 51, and then posted it on a forum, it's leaked worldwide. Chances are, you'd also put the very website you were trying to help would be shut down, never to be seen again.

Then you've got that whole death thing to deal with. Yeah, it would still be in vain. Everyone would know a few important things, but so would the enemy.

That is, assuming the enemy doesn't have the same material to work with as the US government. Chances are, though, that all world powers have their own little Area 51. Even if you exploited one, that would be only one cell operating compared to the others. It would all be in vain.

Maybe the answer we're looking for is security, not breach of it. We need to know our families are safe, and we need to establish security within our own communities. We're all human, so we can all cooperate. If we are threatened or compromised, at least we know we could have people helping us. It's that human connection that we only realise before our first life is over.

Depends on the information, if it was valuable to people, 100% would. If it was a worthless piece of junk that is a joke but still top secret, nah, not worth it, not even worth talking about.
Anyway, pending on what it was, yes. However, if it merits them showing up on my doorstep or sending threats then it DEFINITELY has meaning and I will put it out. Besides after I publish it I doubt I will be living at home anymore, nor would any smart person. Catch me if you can. No paper trail, no credit cards, no known contacts or family, gotta love it.

Being on the run would be lonely, exhausting, and you'd probably kill yourself before they kill you.

Human's emotions can only stay stable for so long, then they'll just snap. Well, under certain conditions. Being on the run, having nowhere to go, no one to love, no one to talk to, no one to share in your burden, no one to help you out. That's the sort of stuff that would lead one to snap.

They'd also have to deal with other people. Seeing them would totally create more hatred towards their fellow man.

In my opinion, if I were to find this sort of stuff, I'd work in a team. It keeps your sanity and morale at a high.

Also, yeah, if it was cruddy information, gosh, there would have been no point in the first place, huh?

Well, it would depend on the what it was.

If it was like how a top secret plane worked and what its weakness was, or something like that,
I would not divulge the information, though I would probably set up a biomonitoring system,
so that if I were to die, the information would be shot across the Internet, sent to every major
media outlets, and downloaded to the government networks of the governments of every country.

Now, if it were something like the government had developed technology that would benefit humanity,
and was using it for negative things, and was not releasing it, I most likely would, and have a
system set-up like the above as well.

Not sure about you, but I am used to being alone and can stand it better than most. I like my solidarity in my home, the only real contact I have is with store workers, place of work, and on ATS. Before ATS it used to be just the two. Anyway, never, EVER doubt my resolve to survive, never EVER doubt my ability to carry on as a hermit.
