I tried to listen to it all the way through but the racist (religiousist?) comments and the sheer manipulative abuse of the daughter put me off. Threatening to kill yourself because you don't like who your kid is dating is something I find to be really upsetting. For me, as long as my kids are dating decent people who treat them well, and they are happy, that's all I could ask for.

That poor girl.

Funny - and sad. The unusual thing for me personally is that my sister married into an Italian family that talked EXACTLY the same way - they all thought they were pseudo-mafia or something - and my brother had a Jewish girlfriend whose family was indistinguishable from the Italian family - bit had the worst potty-mouths and hated everyone unlike themselves.

The annual family picnic was a sight to behold...
