First jobs are always fun! I sure enjoyed my first job, feeling so independent, like a big shot. And then that first paycheck came and my Grandpa said I had to cough up 70 dollars out of each paycheck to earn my keep. The shock was overwhelming! I felt like someone had stabbed me in the pocketbook big time! Now, looking back he was only trying to teach me something, and I do appreciate his effort.

Sure, I'll be sure to take pictures of the inside of it when I am not doing anything. When I am on duty there I may not be able to do that, and that's because I'll always have to answer all of the calls, etc.
Do you want pics of me or of the place?

My first job application was quite interesting. When I was in high school, my mother was ragging on me to go out and get a job. A few buddies of mine were working at Sobeys, doing the front end gig, which consisted of putting the carts back in the coral. Well, in the middle of a Canadian winter, I was not going to be caught dead working outside in a parking lot pushing shopping carts. With that said, my mother still insisted on taking me down and getting an application. I had a few friends working there, as I said, so it seemed obvious that I would get the job.
But with a little trickery, I managed to escape the job. I went in, got the application, and in the line that asked what position I was applying for, I filled in Store Manager. You know, just thought I'd go for it. Obviously I never got a call back and never had to push shopping carts in the winter.
But my first job came when I was 12 and I worked as an extra on a television show. It was only a small show shot in my community, but it was fun to see how everything goes down behind the scenes. Man, we stole everything from that place. Nothing of any value, just little things that were given for free. They said, take a can of pop... we took twenty.
Working in a batting cage for the summer would definitely have it's benefits though.
Do you play any ball?
