We can teach our pets to do tricks but in this case, was the dog in this story reacting to a human need or just plain frantic?

there have been many acts where a pet has saved the lives of his masters/friends how ever you want to refer to the owner,

cases like

houses fires
falling into lakes
and others

this is just instict that they get as they grow with the owner
in my view

I agree.

I saw instances on TV in where an epileptic person's dog KNEW that his owner was going to have a seizer.

The dog would act very strangely 10-20 mins. before the owner would seize.

The owner recognized this odd behavior from his pet, and saw a 'pattern' developing.

Upon seeing his dogs' strange behavior, the owner would lie down on the floor (to prevent injuries of falling during a 'grand mal') and await the seizer to pass.

After the event occured, the pet's owner always found his dog laying beside him (as if to comfort/protect).

Instinct and Bonding bring out the best in our 4 -legged friends.

6th sense/ESP in our pets?
