This reminds me sort of like that tsunami hit that other place a few years ago. It's no where as severe, of course.

Uhhhhhm.....

tsu·na·mi /tsʊˈnɑmi/ Pronunciation[tsoo-nah-mee]
–noun
an unusually large sea wave produced by a seaquake or undersea volcanic eruption.

Soooo just how did they tell this monster six inch wave apart from all the other waves?

You mean the 2004 South Asia Tsunami that killed hundreds of
thousands of people?

This kind of thing, earthquakes and subsequent tsunamis is not un-
common in Japan, indeed Japan has some of, if not the best earth-
quake proof buildings and seawalls.

Yeah, just like it ... except without all the water and death and stuff

I think it has to be a much stronger quake to create a real killer wave.

maybe they meant 60 inch wave and maybe the coast where it hit the water was really deep. i rember reading some where if the water is really deep it could absorb the energy of the tidal wave.
