Everyone who says that religon plays no part in their daily life doesn't know what they are talking about.

Whether you like it or not, your whole society was founded on a religion - be it Christian, Muslim or Bush Baptist.

Everything you do or your predecessors have done has been dictated to over the years by religion.

You, yourself might not have a faith but unfortunately that means nothing. The people who founded your countries, made your laws, made your societies, built your cities, all did so on the foundation of religion. You eat it, drink it, sleep it.
There is no escaping it.

*Cough* Bull#! *Cough*
That was just an unnecessary belief, just as it is now. Emotions predict morals and principles, just as they always have. It has absolutely nothing to do with religion.

Jesus is...and always be a part of me. I am alive...and doing my best to walk in His footsteps...Amen.

Why can't you find your own way through life, why do you need to follow someone else's(who you don't even *know* existed) footsteps. Why not be independent and be an individual?

I don't know about you, but I feel I'v been spared from having god in my life. I was born and raised by nonconforming realists, and I am thankful for it.
Four children and their families drown in mud at a california religious camp on Christmas day!!?? As long as %#!% like this happens, Ill keep Jesus in the category of Santa and the Easter bunny.

Yes there is a next life, some call it heaven, some call it hell, I call it the next level. Peace

Statements like this annoy the hell out of me. Like there's any possible way you could know this?

I didn't say I knew what happened after you die. No one really knows. But each of us have to make our own decision. I said it was the next level. I truly believe its the next level. If I annoyed yougood. Its my belief and Im sticking to it I didnt say you had to agree just understand where Im coming from. Gezz get a grip

No, you stated that there is a "next life", as if you know this as fact.
You didn't say it was you're belief. That's different.

I am of no set faith, i've studied the three major faiths (judaism, islam and christianity), i was raised islamic. What i've done is taken the bits that make sense out of all the religions i've come across (be it in the BIG 3 or another unrelated faith) and formed by own beliefs to abide by. I feel this is the right way to go about it as long as the beliefs you choose are what you truly, deep deep down inside you, believe to be right. My life has gone uphill since i made this move and my positive attitude brings results. So thats how my faith affects my life, its made me whole again.

Let's see.... What role does religion play in my life? Well, I live in Utah so it affects my life in many ways:

Last call is at 1AM (Mormons run the department of alcholic beverage control).
There are no strip clubs downtown (Mormons run the city zoning commision).
A major street has been shut down (a part of Main Street in Salt Lake was sold to the LDS church).
I have to leave the state to get porn mags (I guess "God" must not like porn).
Cigarettes cost $5 a pack (Sin tax).

I would have to say that religion tries to take my freedom of choice away and control what I see and do. I think that religion plays a negative role in my life.

Enery can neither be created nor destroyed. Our sprits are a form of energy. So there for when we die that energy goes some where. Hence a next life. You athiest kill me. If you have nothing to believe in what's the point of living. Go shoot you self in the head and get it over with.

You're one ignorant MF. First of all, I'm not an atheist. Second of all, I agree with part of your statement, but not all. Energy transforms. It rarely (if ever) returns to it's previous form. Your "next life" terminology only shows a complete lack of understanding energy. Go shoot yourself in the ass. The bullet should also pierce your skull. Oh yeah...and learn how to spell "atheist".
