quietly seeped thru as a "improving america's security by implementing unfinished recommendations of the 9/11 commision act of 2007"

www.total411.info...

Section (j)(1)(a-c) of the bill would have President Bush produce a report within six months on whether it is "feasible" to continue to protect the privacy rights of Americans.

=privacy act in jeopardy

Please find the bill through the Gov websites please, I trust nothing from Neo-liberal websites. They lie, con, scare and deceive and are no better then the Neo-cons you so fear.

Here is the ENTIRE text of the bill:

110th CONGRESS
1st Session
S. 4

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Improving America's Security by Implementing Unfinished Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007'.

SEC. 2. SENSE OF CONGRESS.

It is the sense of Congress that Congress should enact, and the President should sign, legislation to make the United States more secure by implementing unfinished recommendations of the 9/11 Commission to fight the war on terror more effectively and to improve homeland security .

Yeah, sounds REALLY EVIL!!!!!

Well, yes, that's the text introduced to the Senate.

There's a bit more to the version reported in Senate.

LOC Thomas : S.4

It's 70 or so sections might take a little longer to parse for evilness

Oh beleive me, this is not a one liner as portrayed here.

We need to get to the real evil by reading it in its "entirety". Long story short, the time is getting closer to the 666, chip, National ID card, government watching our every move thru our computer or tv.

Sounds funny, but darn it my money's on it- and very soon.

They should call it the "mass exodus to other countries bill", if what I'm reading is correct.

I can't see many freedom loving americans sticking around if this passes.

Oh well... if you don't mind the cold, Canada's still a free country.

From what I saw after reading the long form of the Bill, there was nothing that put the privacy rights of anyone at risk. Mostly the bill seems to call for the sharing of info between government agencies that wasn't done pre-9/11. Also addressed in the bill was the need for Congressional oversight of all attempts at "data mining" by the various intelligence agencies. If you don't believe me read it for yourself. It may take a long, long, long while, and you may wish that you never tried to undertake the task, but it seems like it is asking for more oversight of the existing goverment intel programs and setting definate limits on the amounts that the government spends to implement those programs. Just my $0.02
