What I have read on this make it sound freaken awesome.
It is suppost to be Like Oblivion in Deep Space. Its also done by a name we all know and love Bioware.
Like KOTOR your good/or bad will effect those around you, except that it will effect the Human race.
I think that where they get the name Mass Effect, your decisions will have a mass effect for all of Mankind.

It is your mission. As Commander Shepard of the SS Normandy, you will take your elite recon squad across a galaxy in turmoil, in a desperate race to stop the return of an enemy without mercy. To stop this enemy, you must act without remorse, without hesitation, and outside the limits of the law. Your only imperative is to preserve the safety of civilized life in the galaxy - at any cost. You must become the tip of the spear of humanity, for you alone know the full extent of what is at stake if you should fail.

You will have a massive ship that like KOTOR you can walk around into. Your orders will be law.

As soon as I read about this all other games seem meaningless.

well, i avoid fanboyism at all costs
and ofr the record
i believe the wii is a brilliant controller stuck to a sub par console
which evens out to be a great system

but yeah
i don't see why people would say 1 game makes an entire system obsolete

Unless the don't carry "Mass Effect", then I will agree that they stink really bad. Any system with "Mass Effect" will rule.

I'm aware of this game and I plan on getting it.
However, if the enemies level up with me like Oblivion I'm going to flush my 360 down a toilet, buy a PS3, and f...

All I can say to your Avatar is moo,moo...moo,moo,moo,moo. God I loved that episode.

All I can say is I hate that too. But they tried to keep people from level building and just have them play the game. Most who did and beat everything minus the add ons around around 100 hrs. That feature did really irrate me but I loved Oblivion, and played 100 hrs +.

Ahhh, well all the Xbox 360 people will be bummed when the Xbox 360 Elite comes out. It's black and will have an 120GB drive and HDMI for a price tag of $479.

That means that in less then a year, the Xbox 360s that people bought are being outclassed (storage-wise) by Microsoft and it still doesn't have built in WiFi or an HD drive.

All the 360 fans keep thinking this is a sprint, but it's a race. there are more games on the 360 now and yes, it looks just as good as on the PS3, but what about in a couple years?

It will be interesting to see where things go.

Is the "Elite" just a pretty 360 package. Or just a 360 with HD. Because I don't care if my 360 has HD on it or not. Not going to junk my tv to get on with HD just because the Man says I really need it either.

My hard drive is pretty nice already. The hard drive on the 360 can pop out so if its all that i can always buy the new hard drive and pop it in my old 360 husk.

3DO. Jaguar. Dreamcast. Ring any bells?

Any weakness out of the gate and during the first year of sales is seen as a red flag for Developers and Publishers. I'd say that Sony has till Christmas to get their act together. If their lineup is complete crap then I'll be posting a Youtube video of a Fat lady singing in a PS3 thread.

All Six Character classes:

Did you know there are six distinct character classes in Mass Effect, each with a different package of starting and unlockable talents? In addition, if you play well enough to survive the physical and political dangers of the galaxy, you will gain the ability to unlock six more specialization classes later in the game. Your elite recon squad must win an impossible race to stop the return of a brutal enemy. It is imperative that you build and play your character to the best of your ability.

One of the first choices you will make as you play Mass Effect is, "What character class do I want my Commander Shepard to be?" To help you make an informed decision, we're giving you the class backgrounds with explanations of their strengths and abilities, including their starting talents and unlockable future talents.

In part one of the class backgrounds, we reveal the details of the Soldier, the Engineer and the Adept. Watch for future updates featuring more Mass Effect character classes.

Soldier
Soldiers are combat specialists ideal for the front lines of a firefight. Soldiers begin the game trained with skills in both pistols and assault rifles, they have improved health and the ability to wear medium combat armor. As you progress through the game you can unlock assault training, skills with shotguns and sniper rifles, become able to perform first aid on yourself and party members, and wear heavy combat armor.

Starting Talents:

Pistols
Assault Rifles
Combat Armor (medium to start,
upgrading to heavy)
Fitness
Unlockable Talents:

Shotguns
Sniper Rifles
First Aid
Assault Training

Engineer
Engineers are tech specialists. Using the holographic OmniTool they can decrypt security systems, repair and/or modify technical equipment, disrupt enemy weapons or shields and heal their party. Even though they begin the game with only pistols and the OmniTool, engineers can unlock the ability to wear light armor and to reverse engineer enemy technology. They can also learn to put up protective shields and to heal the party.

Starting Talents:

Pistols
Electronics
Decryption
First Aid
Unlockable Talents:

Basic Armor (light only)
Reverse Engineering
Shielding
Medicine

Adept
Adepts are biotic specialists. Starting out equipped with pistols and light armor, the true strength of the adept is through the upgradeable implants that give them their biotic powers. These powers can be used to lift or throw objects, shield the party and disable or destroy enemies.

Starting Talents:

Basic Armor (light only)
Throw
Barrier
Warp
Unlockable Talents:

Pistols
Lift
Stasis
Singularity

Infiltrator
Infiltrators combine combat and tech abilities, and specialize in killing or disabling enemies at long range. Infiltrators are trained to use OmniTools, but the focus is on decryption and offensive abilities rather than healing. They can train with pistols or sniper rifles, and can learn to wear medium armor.
Starting Talents:

Pistols
Tactical Armor (light to start, upgrading to medium)
Electronics
Decryption
Unlockable Talents:

Sniper Rifles
Fitness
Shielding
First Aid

Vanguard
Vanguards are biotic warriors. They combine offensive biotic abilities and weapons training to quickly take down opponents, and are especially deadly at short range. They can train with pistols and shotguns, and can learn to wear medium armor.

Starting Talents:

Pistols
Fitness
Throw
Warp
Unlockable Talents:

Shotguns
Tactical Armor (light to start, upgrading to medium)
Lift
Barrier

Sentinel
Sentinels combine biotic and tech abilities. Typically they use biotic abilities and advanced healing skills to defend allies, though they can also disrupt opponents with biotic or Tech attacks. They are more efficient at tech and biotics than other classes, but at the expense of combat. Sentinels can only use light armor, and receive no advanced weapon training.

Starting Talents:

Throw
Barrier
Electronics
First Aid
Unlockable Talents:

Lift
Stasis
Decryption
Medicine
