MTHEL Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser

MTHEL shoots down missiles, on one test shoots 3 simultaneously airborne mortar rounds.

Looks to be pretty effective, and Im sure more powerful ones are in the works.

THEL and MTHEL were killed off in 2004.

As a fixed configuration they were ok, but the mobile versions were insanely bulky.

It takes a lot of reactants to get an MTHEL to fire, the last version took several 18-wheeler sized tank sets. They don't show that part in the pictures.

The solid-state laser that was on another thread here somewhere will eventually take over with hopefully some of the issues fixed. In the meantime, I think Skyguard is the currently running "THEL-like" laser.
