Just out of interest, I'm wondering what authors/researchers into the paranormal and metaphysical does every one here at ATS rate.

By that I mean not only the authors who's books are well written and entertaining but who also bring some compelling theories, openmindedness and good research to the table along with it.

I'd say "The Internet", in general. Doesn't matter who the author is, but there are thousands of free websites and e-books available on the whole wide range of paranormal/esoteric subjects.

Better not to get attached to certain authors and give them a following.

If for some weird reason you insist on buying a book, or subscribing to the ideas of a specific author, I'd say:

Robert A. Monroe. (Astral Projection topics only)
Books: Journeys Out of The Body, Far Journeys, Ultimate Journey

Samael Aun Weor (and don't even buy the books, because free e-books are available all over the internet.) (More spiritual/philosophical in his approach. Lucid dreaming, astral projection, tons of other topics.)

Books: (Dozens). I'd say The Great Rebellion and The Three Mountains are a good start.
