My freind (not me ,iam just worried about her)
For the past 5-4 months she has had an on/off pain (sting) in her throat that would be very painful ,she went to the doctors and got a blood test, everything came up negative whitch is great, but the pains continued she was told to not eat or drink anything acidic and it should past

Now today she has found a sore lump on her neck and her throat is getting worse
Any ideas???
She is one of my best freinds and dont want anything to happen to her

Maybe she should see another doctor and/or go back to the doctor she saw and tell the doctor she is still having a problem. Where are you located by the way?

The reason I ask is that I had a friend whose father was having bladder problems. Her father lived in a small town and the small town doctors and specialists could not diagnose the problem. Finally, she had him see a specialist in Los Angeles, who was able to correct the problem. Specialists in big cities not only tend to be better than their rural counterparts, but they have easy access to other specialists and experts they could consult in making diagnosis or providing treatment.

If you are in Europe or Canada and dealing with socialized medicine, I do not know what to tell you.

Your friend should go back to the doctor immediately, and if he can't find the problem - go to another.

If you were in Canada dealing with socialized medicine, the only difference would be that you could visit 10 different doctors on the same day getting multiple opinions, all at no cost. You also wouldn't need to worry which one accepted your particular insurance policy.

And yeah, if it is a small town with few doctors who can't diagnose the problem, a trip to the city might be in order.
