Vitesse Arnhem closed the gap on the top four in the Eredivisie after completing a 2-0 home win over 10-man Willem II on Saturday.
The victory moves fifth-placed Vitesse to within four points of Feyenoord, whose game at Den Bosch on Sunday has been postponed because of inclement
weather. Richard Knopper set Vitesse on the road to victory with the opener after 29 minutes and, after Willem had lost Frank van der Struijk to a red
card in the 82nd minute, substitute Igor Gluscevic wrapped up the points with a controversial second goal.
Thomas Vermaelen's second-half equaliser allowed RKC Waalwijk to take a share of the spoils from their mid-table battle with FC Utrecht.
