HONOLULU (Feb. 13, 2005) -- Dallas offensive tackle Flozell Adams was unable to play in the Pro Bowl because his equipment never arrived in Hawaii.
Adams was added to the NFC roster Feb. 10 when Philadelphia's Tra Thomas dropped out with a back injury. Adams, a seventh-year pro, had hoped to make
his second Pro Bowl appearance after starting the 2004 game.
But because of an unexplained mixup between Dallas and Honolulu, Adams didn't have his Cowboys helmet, shoulder pads and other gear. He tried on
several other helmets, but didn't feel comfortable in them.
His absence leaves Seattle's Walter Jones and St. Louis' Orlando Pace as the only tackles on the NFC's roster.
