Bayern Munich went three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 defeat of Hamburg on Friday night.

It was not a happy return to Munich for Bixente Lizarazu as he lasted only eight minutes of his first game back in Bayern's colours, but at least his team-mates celebrated a winning start to 2005.

Bayern opened the scoring through Claudio Pizarro with 22 minutes on the clock, and after a Rene Klingbeil own-goal had doubled the advantage three minutes into the second half, Roy Makaay added the third eight minutes later to ensure victory.
