Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning threw for 360 yards in the first half Sunday against the Denver Broncos, the highest total for a half in
any playoff game since 1970.
The previous record belonged to Kerry Collins, who threw for 338 yards in the first half of the New York Giants' 2000 NFC Championship win over
Minnesota.
Manning was named The Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for an NFL record 49 touchdowns and breaking the league record for
passer rating with a 121.1 this season.
In the first half of Sunday's wild-card matchup against the Broncos, Manning was 21 of 27 with three touchdowns and one interception. He also ran 1
yard for his first touchdown on the ground since the 2002 season.
