LOS ANGELES -- UCLA guard Cedric Bozeman underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday and will miss the season.
The 2½-hour surgery at UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital was the result of Bozeman injuring himself at practice last week. He stepped on a teammate's ankle
and then fell on his left ankle and right knee, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament.
"I understand it went quite well," coach Ben Howland said. "The ligament was repaired with a graft from Cedric's patella tendon. He should be able to
go home sometime Thursday."
Recovery from a torn ACL generally takes eight months.
Bozeman, who was to start his senior season, said he wants to redshirt this season and return in 2005-06.
