The Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday signed guard Anthony Goldwire.
The 33-year-old Goldwire has averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 assists with six NBA teams since joining the league with the Charlotte Hornets in 1995-96. He
was signed to a 10-day contract by the Bucks last season, but did not play.
Goldwire takes the roster spot that opened Tuesday when guard Mike James was placed on the injured list because of a left rib injury. James was slated
to start in the backcourt alongside Michael Redd this year, his first season with Milwaukee.
James averaged 8.1 points and 3.5 assists last season with Detroit and Boston.
Bucks guard T.J. Ford is also on the injured list.
Milwaukee opens the 2004-05 season against Orlando on Wednesday.
