Commonwealth champions Peter Waterfield and Leon Taylor finally gave Team GB something to cheer by winning Olympic silver in the 10metre synchronised
platform diving final.
At the end of a disappointing day for the British team, the experienced duo delivered on the biggest stage in Athens - four years after finishing
fourth in Sydney.
They amassed 371.52 points to finish behind winners China, who added another gold following the women's diving success earlier tonight.
The Australians claimed third place.
Earlier, Great Britain almost made it a diving double as Tandi Gerrard and Jane Smith finished an agonising fourth in the Olympic synchronised
three-metre springboard final.
Chinese duo Minxia Wu and Jingjing Guo walked away with the gold medals in Athens dominating from the outset.
Russia's Vera Ilyina and Yulia Pakhalina finished second, almost six points adrift of the winners, while Australian pair Irina Lashko and Chantelle
Newbury clinched the bronze.
