French Open runner-up Guillermo Coria will skip this month's Olympic tennis tournament, citing a right shoulder injury.
The world No. 3 Coria, who was also forced to miss this week's Masters Series event in Cincinnati, is suffering with shoulder tendinitis and tests
indicated that he would not be ready in time for the Summer Games, which will present its tennis portion of the event from August 15-22.
"We are going to do further tests, but it's already ruled out: He will not be going to Athens," said Coria's trainer, Cristian Elseser.
The Argentine squad currently boasts world No. 5 David Nalbandian, No. 9 French Open champion Gaston Gaudio and No. 16 Juan Ignacio Chela. Mariano
Zabaleta, currently ranked 40th in the world, could replaced Coria on the strong team.
