PHOENIX (AP) - The Phoenix Suns have offered restricted free-agent guard Quentin Richardson a six-year contract worth up to $48 million, a newspaper
reported Thursday.
The Arizona Republic said it got confirmation of Richardson agreeing to the offer sheet Wednesday from an unnamed person close to the negotiations.
Richardson, who has spent his entire four-year NBA career with the Los Angeles Clippers, can't officially sign with the Suns until July 14.
Should he do so, the Clippers would have 15 days to match the Suns' offer or let him go.
The 6-foot-5, 238-pound Richardson started 64 games last season and set career-high averages in points (17.2), rebounds (6.4) and assists (2.1).
