EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Former St. John's star receiver Blake Elliott suffered a broken leg at a Minnesota Vikings practice.
Elliott fractured his left fibula just above the ankle at Vikings development camp Friday when his legs got tangled with safety Willie Offord during a
passing drill.
Elliott was to undergo surgery Saturday and likely will be placed on injured reserve, a team spokesman said.
Elliott, who won the Gagliardi Trophy as the top NCAA Division III player in 2003, is trying to make the Vikings' roster as an undrafted rookie free
agent.
Development camp will resume without him this week and conclude June 17. Veterans and rookies will report to training camp in Mankato on July 30.
