MOUNT MORRIS, Pa. - Ricky Carmichael won the AMA Chevrolet Motocross Championship race at High Point Raceway on Sunday, his third consecutive victory
in the series.
Carmichael, of Havana, Fla., crashed his Honda on the third lap of the first 250cc moto. He picked up his bike and passed Australian Chad Reed a lap
later then pulled away to 2.021-second victory over fellow Honda rider Kevin Windham. Reed was third.
Carmichael easily won the second moto.
James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., won the 125cc division on a Kawasaki. It was the first win at High Point for Stewart.
