(AP)--Former IBF lightweight champion Paul Spadafora won his first fight as a welterweight, a unanimous decision over Ruben Galvan on Thursday
The three judges each scored the 10-round fight 100-90 for Spadafora (37-0-1), who returned to the ring for the first time since fighting Leonard
Dorin to a draw in May.
The 28-year-old from Pittsburgh held the IBF lightweight title for about four years. Often going months between bouts, he struggled to keep his weight
around 135 pounds during binges of eating and drinking.
He finally gave up last summer, saying he could no longer make weight, and renounced his 135-pound title.
