Former Olympic boxer Tim Austin was acquitted of charges he raped a 16-year-old girl.
The jury deliberated for 40 minutes Monday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court before finding Austin innocent. He was accused of raping the girl
last May as she and several relatives spent the night at Austin's home.
Austin, 33, said after the verdict he hopes to resume his boxing career by the summer.
The 1992 Olympic bronze medalist went on to win the International Boxing Federation bantamweight title in 1997.
Austin was making his 10th defense of the 118-pound title in February 2003 when he lost to Rafael Marquez in Las Vegas. It was Austin's first defeat
in an 11-year pro career.
