Newz Forum: BOXING: McCline Stops Llewellyn in First Round

Associated Press - April 16, 2004 Heavyweight Jameel McCline earned a technical knockout in the first round against Wayne Llewellyn at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday.

McCline, ranked No. 4 by the IBF, knocked Llewellyn to the canvas three times before the fight was stopped at 2:46 of the opening round. The bout was scheduled for 10 rounds.

McCline, from Fort Jefferson, N.Y., improved to 13-3-3 with 19 knockouts. Llewellyn dropped to 27-5-0 with 20 knockouts.

In the co-heavyweight feature, Jeremy Williams (41-4-1), from Sherman Oaks, Calif., used an effective jab and stopped Attila Levin (29-2-0) at 2:38 of the eighth round.
