Tottenham: defoe wants europe

Jermain Defoe has trained his sights on leading Tottenham to a place in Europe next season.

Spurs have become a solid unit under the stewardship of Martin Jol, but have lost their last two games, to Chelsea and Crystal Palace, and are in danger of slipping off the pace for a place in Europe.

Defoe has revealed that Jol is keen to keep the players' focus off Europe, but the England marksman admits it is tough to ignore the prospect of Uefa Cup football next term.
