Liverpool: Riise hopes for contract

liverpool left sided player riise is hoping for a new contract after having done well for the team so far in the last few years

"For me, everything is just fine at the club," Riise told VG.

"I am truly enjoying myself at Anfield under the new manager Rafael Benitez.

"My contract expires in 2007 but I can sign a new deal for more seasons at any time if it's desired."

Liverpool star John Arne Riise has called on the club to offer him a new deal at Anfield.

The Norwegian international has recaptured his best form this season under Rafa Benitez and he is happy to extend his stay at the club.

Riise feels he deserves a new contract and he would have no hesitation in signing one if it was on offer.

"I am hoping for a new contract and if they give me an offer it won't take long for me to sign it," said Riise.

He definately deserves one, he's a great player...I don't know why he's begging to be honest, there's no doubt at all that he'd definately get a new contract. He's still young and can only improve...
